kony 2012

This week I miss A LOT from my English class 115 because I was sick. Its not nice to miss information from class. But I was not felling really good to attend to school. On Tuesday I was still not feeling good so my dad took me to the doctor.  and with the help of medicine, my family, and my boyfriend I got a little better♥ (: But when I came back to school on Wednesday (actually the only day that attend to school last week) we saw this video that is name Kony 2012. The information that the video has really surprise me. Its disgusting what that thing that cant be call a human does that to kids. Hopefully we all put a little of our effort to help get Kony. Lets Just think what would happened it we were living on Africa and all of does things would had happened to us. That's not life, so lets give them peace and also a little of our help.

presentations

On Wednesday I left class a little early.. it as only an hour but I think that I missed up a lot, but hopefully on Wednesday I had the chance to catch up with everything. On Wednesday my group present what they did on Monday.. they talked about how to organize a room to make presentations ( I cant recall the name right now). And they say that to make that they need to get first a room, music, people to go, some food, and some other things. And also as a class we talk about the project that we need to do to with the students of middle school and with high school students. We have to take to our school a student from middle school and present to them Southwestern. And with the high scholars we have to go to a school. I wish it could be going to a middle school and taking a student from high school because that would be better because high school students are more close to attend to college rather than middle scholars. But i think that everything would go good and specially we need to have a good time.

first essay

On Wednesday our first essay was DUE!! I'm nervous and anxious to know my grade. Hopefully I get a good grade. For me this first essay was helpful because with that i would know how our professor works and how he grade the essays. also this essays its like a practice for me because depending on this essay and the grade i get i would work harder on the next essay.

Family

What is family? Based on thefreedictionary.com a fundamental social group in society typically consisting of one or two parents and their children, all the members of a household under one roof. But, for me what is the definition of family? At some families there's not a parent, it could be the mom or the dad, and that could still be a family, because for me family are the persons that would be with you no matter what, helping you, and loving you. For me my family are the most important people in my life. My parents are the ones that had been teaching me to be the person whom am I. I totally love my family, my parents had been trying to show me some importance of being parents. Language, tradition, education, and history are one of the most important things to my family. They had teaching me that education is important because with that my future depends on my education. Language, our language is Spanish, I love to speak Spanish, I like to show others that I'm Latina, and that my primary language is Spanish and that I'm proud of it. Tradition and history basically could be the same thing because even though I used to live in Tijuana for 11 years and then came to San Diego I still do the things that I used to do when I lived on Tijuana, my mom still cook Mexican food and I love to go to Tijuana every weekend to visit my family.

teacher appointment

On Wednesday Mr. Aronson gave us a paper where we had to sign up to get an appointment with him on Thursday or Friday. I got my appointment on Thursday because it was going to be easier for me. I went to his office and he was going to help us with our essays that are due on Friday. Our essays are about three songs and we had to talk about the main idea and the topic of the song. First I was a little confused on what to write on the essay, if I was being clear on my ideas or if I was doing a good work. 

Mr. Aronson gave me a lot of help and a lot of new ideas to make my essay stronger and more clear. Also I was not sure if we had to talk about rhetoric and main idea in a different paragraph. All that little questions I had the opportunity to ask him on the appointment and know I am more sure on what to write about. I have all my questions clear and many ideas to make my essay stronger and better.

peer review day (:

This passed Wednesday we did our peer review for our first essay on English 115. First I was a little nervous because Mr.Aranson told us that we were going to work on teams so they could check our errors and also write to us on the kisses ans wishes paper. I was really nervous because I was thinking that I was going to have too many mistakes. I just calm myself and thought to myself that everything was going to be good and that the information that my classmates were going to give was going to be really helpful for me and for my essay.

I give my group some help on what to do on their essays to make a better essays, for example I told them maybe to explain more about the song, or any other thing they were talking about.they also told me that I was doing good on my essay but that I had to make some changes and to try to make more clear my opinions. I did like this peer reviewing because its going to help me a  lot working on this essay and also for the next essays that we are going to do.

My name is Jessica. Some people call me Jessi or Jess, it doesn't matter because they are talking to the same person. I am 20 years old, believe it or not. Some people tell me that I look if I had 18, and THANK YOU! I just turn in 20 on September and I cant make my mind that i am already 20. As some people know, I am a shy person and I don't really talk that much on class. But when I get to know better a person I do talk a LOT! I am a friendly person, and I just like to help others. I like to have fun, meet new places. My family, they are just the best and they are really important for me. My boyfriend, I thank god he is in my life, he's always with me on good and bad things. My puppy Cuba, she is a little present from my boyfriend.She is like my daughter and she has give me a lot of happiness in my life. My future, for my future i have a lot of plans on mind. One of them is to finish school and to have a better future with my career. I could define me as a fortunate person, but not because materials things, its because the people that are in my life.

Imagine by John Lennon is one of the song I choose to do my essay about. This song has a lot of meanings for me. This song is the one I choose for my quinceañera. That's one of the reasons I choose that song, and the other reason it's because it talks about a really important thing that we need on earth. PEACE.
